Discussions underway to promulgate constitution on time: Pokharel

CPN-UML General Secretary
Ishwor Pokharel has said the political parties are holding
discussions among the political parties to promulgate a new
constitution on the time.
Talking briefly to media persons at Bhadrapur Airport on Monday,
Pokharel said discussions were underway to promulgate the new
constitution through voting process, but could not reach a conclusion.
Pokharel was there in course of heading towards Panchthar to address
the District Convention of the CPN-UML Panchthar District Committee.
He said the UCPN (Maoist) was the main obstacle of the constitution writing process.
Saying that there was no alternative to promulgate the new constitution even through voting process, the CPN-UML General Secretary said the stance of the UCPN (Maoist) would not obstruct the promulgation of the new constitution at any cost.
He further said that they would not allow the Maoists to take the nation and its people hostage of indecisions.
Similarly, talking to media person at Chandragadhi Airport,
Spokesperson of the National Human Rights Commission, Mohana Ansari said
that basic rights of people should be protected by issuing the new
constitution on the slated time.
Saying that the new constitution should be human rights friendly,
Ansari also made the political parties aware to promulgate the new
constitution as soon as possible.
She added the state should show activeness to fulfill minimum needs of
people, saying a separate law should be prepared regarding human
trafficking.
The NHRC member said the commission has been collecting problems
surfaced across the nation in course of preparing its six-year strategy.
